If the backsplash is smooth or glossy, I'd recommend scuff-sanding it first prior to painting. You don't need to use a separate primer unless the surface is chalky. Have a great day! -Ronald

A:  Hi there, thanks for the question. I wouldn't recommend using Stucco, Masonry & Brick Paint for landscape curbing or edging. The areas of the edging that come into constant contact with the soil and water could cause the coating to deteriorate prematurely. If that is the case, we do not recommend using this paint as it is not designed to withstand foot traffic. Alternatively, you can use our Solid Color Concrete Stain.
