Q:If using paint with primer do you still need kilz
by|Feb 17, 2023

Answer This Question
A: If you have staining from water or grease/oil on sheetrock or wood you must use Kilz to seal the stain. If you don't use Kilz the stain will bleed through and be visible no matter how many coats of paint w/primer you apply. Kilz is absolutely worth your time and effort. You only need to Kilz the stained areas.

A: Hi Linda, thanks for the question. Since our Premium Plus Paint has a built-in primer, a separate primer isn't typically needed. The exception would be if you are painting over heavy stains or woods that have tannins, then you would want to use a stain-blocking primer first, such as our Interior/Exterior Multi-Surface Stain-Blocking Primer & Sealer. Have a great day! -Ronald
