Q:I would like to stain my existing (brown, beige) exterior brick to your Flat Top stain color. Does this require a primer first or can we apply the stain directly? I want it to wear/weather well.

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi RaeAnne, thanks for the question. Yes, I would recommend priming the exterior brick first before applying the stain. For vertical surfaces such as the exterior of the home, I'd recommend using out Multi-Surface Primer & Sealer # 436 and if the happens to be horizontal surfaces that will be walked on, I'd recommend our Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer #880. Have a great day! -Ronald

Q:Planning to apply Behr concrete & masonry bonding primer onto a freshly poured 3k sq ft concrete floor and then staining with Behr solid color concrete stain in ice white color. Expecting high traffic. Any non-slip sealer you can recommend?

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi there, thanks for the question. We don't have a non-slip sealer to apply over the Solid-Color Concrete Stain that I can recommend, Our Low-Lustre and Wet-Look Sealers will add a sheen to the floor, which may make it slippery, especially if it gets wet. We do have our Non-Skid Floor Finish Additive that can be added to the final coat of stain that will provide slip resistance. Please reach out to us directly if you have more questions about your project; our customer care team is happy to help you! -Ronald

            Answer This Question

A:  Hi Tracy, thanks for the question. You can apply the Solid-Color Concrete Stain over the existing epoxy paint. If the paint is flossy, I'd recommend scuff-sanding to help with the adhesion of the stain, I'd also recommend priming the surface with our Concrete & Masonry Bonding Primer. Have a great day!
