A:  Slide the opposite end from the auger bit through the handle, tighten set screw to hold in place. As you get deeper, you will need to re-position the handle. .

A:  Loosen the screw and slide it in. As you push down drain keep the screw loose. When it gets caught, tighten screw and twist clockwise till you break through obstruction. Loosen screw and advance farther till another obstruction or end of spring

A:  Hello Husky-I do believe you were looking and meant to ask Husky, how to install their handle on their 82-971-111. If you go to their product, under questions, some customer feedback explains how to attach the handle for their model number. Have a Great Day.

A:  Loosen the screw on the handle and then take the smaller end of the auger and put it through the handle. you can put the handle anywhere you want to make the auger longer or shorter. Use the screw to tighten the handle on the auger section that works for you

Q:How do I assemble the handle to the flex snake?

A:  Hi Sandy - Loosen the thumbscrew on the handle and slip the wire thru the handle. Insert the boring head into the drain until you reach the clog. Reposition the handle and tighten the thumbscrew. Crank the handle clockwise to turn the cable until the clog has cleared. Please call our Customer Support Team at 877-272-7755 with any other questions.

A:  All you do is slip the handle on to the spring from the end and slide it up to where you need it then tighten down the thumb screw. The offset of the handle allows you to spin the spring provided the handle is tighten down to the spring.

A:  Run the small end of the flex snake through the handle, and use the tightening bolt in the center to connect to the flex hose. You use the handle in a rowing motion. The ends of the handles rotate to allow the flex hose to spin. My suggestion is to run the snake as far as you can and place the handle 6 to 12 inches from the pipe entry. Then push and pull the auger while turning. You may have to adjust the handle once you break through that clogged section. There may be clogs further down the pipe. Continue going until water drains freely. My 50 feet auger reached to the street. So I knew when I was done my pipe was clear all the way to the street.

A:  The smaller end of th snake runs thru the handle. Put at desired length and rotate the snake

A:  Loosen the thumb nut on the handle, shove the snake in, then tighten the thumb nut.

                      Answer This Question

A:  In my opinion, this drain auger is not stiff and will flex easily from my experience. So I would agree with your idea of using a pvc pipe to support spanning that air gap. Without it, I would think the auger line would start looping on you in that air gap area distance since there is no pipe wall to keep it from looping when you turn it.

                      Answer This Question

A:  This type does not go into a toilet very well. Do you have another toilet to use till the apple rots? You may have to take the toilet off. if the apple is in the toilet you can get it. If is in the line then you can use a snake. Ware gloves. Turn to water off at the back. Have a new wax ring ready. Check Google on how to do this. You have to take the tank off first after getting the water out of it. Then the bowl comes off.

A:  since it is made of metal, I believe you can use it easily to go through the apple which is much softer than the metal.

A:  Hi KairoJudah - No, we do not recommend using this drain auger for this application. We recommend one of our more heavy duty toilet augers designed specifically for the toilet. These augers have a rubber bowl guard, non-slip handles, and guide tubes that work well for this type of clog. If you need help choosing your auger, please contact our Customer Support Team at 877-272-7755.

A:  As there are no chemicals involved, this would be a good way to clean from the house to the first tank. If clearing that line doesn't take care of your problem, you might need to have your septic system serviced (sludge pumped out, system checked, etc). Hope that helps!

A:  As long as Home Depot is running the shipping promotion, this item does qualify. I live in Colorado, so if you're outside the continental US your mileage may vary. :-)
