Answer This Question

A:  Electrical Requirements: Unit must be connected by a licensed electrician for your state to a GFCI protected circuit. Installation should be performed by a Licensed Electrician • Electrical: 30A@ 120 VAC • Must be connected to a GFCI protected circuit.

A:  No issue, as long as you have a properly installed 30 amp circuit. You may want to check to make sure you can order a 30 amp breaker for your circuit panel. One was not available for my brand panel so I had to have a sub-panel installed. In my case, since my main panel was outside anyway, I had the sub-panel installed inside near the shower so it could also be used as an emergency disconnect switch, which is required by some codes. This wasn't a big deal.

        A:  This model requires assembly.

A:  It has to be assembled. It's a two person job, simply because someone has to hold the large panels upright while it's screwed together, but it's fairly easy with no heavy lifting. It's actually a plus that it comes in pieces because if it were one unit, like some are, it would be impossible to go through a 36" door, and difficult to get it around corners into most bathrooms. For planning purposes, make sure your floor drain connection is installed at the rear of the unit in or near the wall. The drain from this device has a flexible tube designed to attached to an existing drain. It works best if your existing drain is located in or near the wall behind the unit with a vent. If the drain is installed too far directly under the unit, the flexible hose will get hung up and crimped under the unit (low clearance) when you go to pull the unit out, and will become damaged. The instructions don't mention where your physical drain should be. Wish we had known that in advance. The company replaced the damaged drain tubing with no issue. If you decide to route the tubing through the floor to an existing drain, you'll also have the issue of it crimping there as well when you move it, so that's not advised. If you position your drain just above the floor, and connect the tubing so it's all level with the floor, it will flex fine when you move it. The flexible drain was the major headache of this installation. if you're close to an existing vent stack a separate vent isn't normally required by code, but with this drain tubing, once filled, it will block air. I'd suggest use of a studivent or cross over vent connected to the main vent stack so you have ample air in your drain system where this tubing connects. Hope this helps.
