A:  Yes, it does. The regulation of 4" diameter is for wood posts. The actual metal post is enclosed in the decorative light weight outside part, and inside the metal post meets requirements. The post size recommendations are taken from the Federal Highway Administration and mention an upper size range of 4" X 4". At a 4" maximum diameter, this post falls within that range.

A:  Our USPS never complained about our mailbox post. In fact this post is smaller than many on the street. This is a very classy post.

A:  Hello, the steel post is not solid and although it is hollow and a line could run through the post, the post is designed to be be installed into the ground. A:  Hi Khanned, the dimensions of the mounting plate on top of our Basic In-Ground Post with Decorative Cover is 12-inches W x 6-inches H x 0.4-inches D. There are multiple pre drilled mounting hole patterns on the mounting plate including 10-inches W x 4-inches H, 8.6-inches W x 2-inches H, 7-inches W x 3.3-inches H, 4.6-inches W x 2-inches H.
