Q:Does this post comply with USPS guidelines? It appears that the diameter (4”) is too wide to meet the requirements.

Answer This Question
A: Yes, it does. The regulation of 4" diameter is for wood posts. The actual metal post is enclosed in the decorative light weight outside part, and inside the metal post meets requirements. I also installed the new Next Generation metal mailbox which is a flatter box shape and can hold packages. See usps.com/manage/mailboxes.htn

A: See this page on the USPS site regarding mailbox and post size recommendations: https://www.usps.com/manage/mailboxes.htm. The post size recommendations are taken from the Federal Highway Administration and mention an upper size range of 4" X 4". At a 4" maximum diameter, this post falls within that range.

A: Our USPS never complained about our mailbox post. In fact this post is smaller than many on the street. This is a very classy post.

Q:Is the pole hollow all the way through? Is it capable of running an power line through it?

Answer This Question
A: Yes, the pole is hollow with plenty of room for wires.

A: Hello, the steel post is not solid and although it is hollow and a line could run through the post, the post is designed to be be installed into the ground. We recommend using a square foot of concrete to install the post, which would make running a power line through the post difficult. Thanks for reaching out!
