Q:What size bolt do you use to anchor it down on concrete?

Answer This Question

A:  I bolted mine to my wooden deck.

by|Jan 30, 2021

A:  It doesn't come with the pad to mount it to the concrete. You'll have to use an existing pad and bolt this post to the pad via the bolts that go through your existing pad, which should have a pattern that's a little less than 4" apart.

A:  Yes this should work. If you're unsure contact the post office.

A:  Hello, this will depend on the height of your curb. The USPS general mailbox installation guidelines states "the incoming mail slot or door must be 41 to 45 inches from the ground". The Architectural Mailboxes 38 in. Steel 1-Mailbox Post in Black is 38-inches high, so be sure to measure your curb height. Thanks for reaching out!

A:  Hi Ann, the Architectural Mailboxes 38 in. Steel 1-Mailbox Post in Black has a pre-drilled mounting hole pattern of 4-inches x 10-inches. I was unable to find the mounting hole pattern of the gibraltar PED0000B mailbox, but if it has a 4-inch x 10-inch mounting hole pattern, they are compatible. Thanks for reaching out to us!

                    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Dan, USPS generally recommends that curbside mailboxes be installed 41-45 inches from the road surface to the inside floor of the mailbox or point of mail entry. They also suggest to not bury your post more than 24-inches deep. Requirements vary, so to be safe, I would recommend contacting your local mail carrier/USPS for their specific height requirements. Thanks for reaching out!

A:  This one is surface mount and not inground. Postal guide lines are 24" in the ground, bottom of the mailbox opening to be 41" to 45" from the road surface and the front of the mailbox to be 6" to 8" back from the curb.
