by|Jun 10, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The 5105 is too short for the Oasis 360. We recommend the 7516B-10 or the 7517B-10 or the 7507B.

Q:Can I mount a different brand's mailbox to this post? Specifically, I'm considering a Gibraltar post mount double-door steel mailbox. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Postal-PRO-Post-Mount-Double-Door-Steel-Mailbox-Black-PP152DBL/204583647

        Answer This Question

A:  Hello, yes you may use this post to mount other brand's mailboxes - the mailbox will need to have a 4x10 pre-drilled mounting hole pattern to be compatible as that is the only mounting hole pattern included on the Standard In Ground Post. Thanks for reaching out!

A:  It will depend on the street elevation as the post office has a required height. My yard slopes up from the street so I had to go deeper so that the box was at the correct street level elevation per the post office guidelines. I believe the requirements are listed on their website.

A:  we followed the usps requirements as to how much to be above ground, which I think left about a foot in the ground.

A:  Hello, we typically recommend installing the mailbox post in about 12 square inches of cement, but this will also depend on where you plan to install your post as the USPS has general guidelines for intalling your mailbox. From the official USPS website: Position your mailbox 41″ to 45″ from the road surface to the bottom of the mailbox or point of mail entry. Place your mailbox 6″ to 8″ back from the curb. If you do not have a raised curb, contact your local postmaster for guidance. Please reach out to us directly at support@architecturalmailboxes.com if you need further help. Thanks for reaching out!

A:  I set mine at 18" and used 1 bag of concrete mix. It is very solid. The size of your mail box may influence the finished height, so think about that before you set the post.

                    Q:Will a 7600 R mailbox fit on this post?

                    Answer This Question

A:  Hello, we do not recommend installing the 7600R mailbox on the 5105S 46-1/2 in. Standard In-Ground Post due to the USPS height requirements. The handle would most likely not meet USPS installation requirements if you use the 46-1/2 inch post, so we recommend the 5525S 53 in. Galvanized Steel 1-Mailbox Post. The 7600R mailbox is also compatible with these Architectural Mailboxes posts (no mounting bracket required) containing these model numbers: 5526, 7507, 7516, 7511, 7510, 7513. Thanks for reaching out!

A:  Yes, you can buy a 24" post anchor,it fits a 4x4, and pound it in the ground. I would recommend attaching about a one foot piece of 4 x 4 in the spike and then sliding your post over it and drilling holes in the bottom to attach it

A:  Hello, concrete footing is highly recommended for the 46-1/2 in. Standard In-Ground Post as it was designed for in-ground installation. If you have an existing concrete pad or solid surface, you may purchase a surface mount post to install directly into your surface without having to dig a hole into the ground. Thanks for reaching out!

A:  Not that I know of. We had a hole digging tool which made it pretty easy. Once dug and level we used cement that you didn’t have to mix. You pour it in the hole and pour in the water and wait for it to set. About 30 min.

A:  Hi DoubleDuck, this post dimension is 3-3/4 inches inside. So if your 4 X 4 is 3.5 inches X 3.5 inches, then you should be able to slide this post over your wooden post. Hope that answered your question.

A:  No because it is 4x4

A:  Do not know. Unwilling to buy a 4x4 wood post and post-hole digger to find out. It does not seem likely, since wood posts are not exactly square or an exact size.
