Q:My cabin is on the north end of Harstine island, WA 98584 and is wooded. What antenna will pick up Seattle stations? Not sure of the distance "as the crow flies" but about 90 miles of driving. Would I need an amplifier and if so, what would you recommend?

Q:I live in the 28207 zip code. My important stations are all UHF. The towers are in two different directions, one being 8 miles away and the other 22 miles. Would the Clearstream 4 be adequate or do I need the DB8-E. Roof Mounted, trees around.

      Answer This Question

A:  You cannot go wrong with the DB8-e. It's adjustable elements makes it a great choice for almost any installation. The DB8-e's pick up path can be adjusted out to 120 degrees front and rear. The Clearstream 4-V has a more narrow pick up path of 43 degrees, great for picking up broadcasts in one direction or of two within that 86 degrees front and back. Our Clearstream 2-V is another great choice with a 60 degree pick up path front and rear. Call in to support line @ 877-825-5572. Using your exact location we can perform a signal analysis to take the guessing out of the picture. Thanks so much!

        Answer This Question

A:  I would suggest our Clearstream 4-V. The Tampa towers are 50 miles away to the NW. The Fort Meyers are 30 miles away to the SE. Aim the antenna towards Tampa and try to get a clear path to both towers when mounting the antenna and you can grab both cities. Thanks so much!

Q:I live 40 miles from one set of towers and about 60 miles from another set, in almost opposite directions. Is the c-4v a unidirectional antenna? If I set up two and point them in opposite directions and use a combiner, will there be inerference?

          Answer This Question

A:  The Clearstream 4-V is a multi-directional antenna. It has a 43 degree pickup path and it can receive from the front and rear, being stronger with front reception. Combining two is an experiment. If both antennas receive the same broadcasts and one is strong and the other weak, there is the possibility of multi-path that may worsen reception. Give it a shot, it may work perfect for you, or you may find that it's not the solution. A rotor with one antenna is another option. Thanks so much!

            Answer This Question

A:  Adding an amplifier is usually determined by your location and installation specifics. Running a signal analysis from Ottawa, KS shows our JUICE pre-amp definitely wouldn't hurt. Thanks!

              Answer This Question

A:  The Clearstream 4 or C4 has the antenna only. The Clearstream 4 C4-CJM is the antenna with mount. And the Clearstream 4-V C4-V-CJM is the antenna, mount, and VHF kit.
