Answer This Question
A: Hi Bill, it looks like that this 24"x50' Trim Coil Black/White is a store exclusive item and only able to be bought in a Home Depot store. Unfortunately we do not sell it with online stock for purchase. If you are unable to see the store inventory or price it is most likely either not a stocked item in your area or no longer available for purchase from Homedepot.com. I would advise you visit or contact your local Home Depot store for pricing and availability. Please follow the steps below to localize your Homedepot.com:
1. Localize Homedepot.com using your zip code (My Store Location: Change)
2. Choose the store where you want to pick up the item (Make this my Store)
We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot!

Q:Can this be bent by hand or do you need some sort of a machine?
What is the best way to cut this? I'm looking to cut into 6" x 24" strips to go around windows.
Thanks!

A: Thanks for your question. We recommend using a metal break to form the coil. Tin snips should work to cut the aluminum.

A: I have in a pinch used a 2 x 4 with a cheap saw blade width cut 1/2" longer than the longest piece needed. Mark the coil stock on the back and using a 2 x 4 to bend it over. Also using a straight edge score the coil stock to the width you want and bend it over. It will break cleanly along the score. If you need to bend twice in close, use thinner material than 2 x 4.

Q:What is the gauge .016, .019, .022, .024 ?

Answer This Question
A: Thanks for your question. This particular trim coil is .018" gauge.
by|May 3, 2023
A: The spec says it is 0.018" thick. For aluminum, that makes it 25 gauge. However, there is a layer of coating on both sides of unknown thickness. So the actual gauge of the metal is likely 28 gauge or thinner.

A: The HD customer care rep said if it doesn't say it's textured, then it's smooth. So, it looks like most of the trim coil HD has is smooth.
