A:  ViewerFebruary8of2021, The T420.502.002 model has been discontinued however there is an exact replacement and that part number is TU420502.002 for chrome. Sincerely, your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

    A:  No, the valve would have to be replaced as well, this trim would not work on valves from the 1970's. Sincerely American Standard technical team.

      Q:I have a Portsmith T420.501 shower kit.  The handle that control on/off and temperature mix has come loose. I looked underneath for where I suspected to find a set screw and one was not present. How do I tighten the handle? Thanks

      A:  There is a set screw directly on the underside of the handle.

        Q:I bought a number of the T420501 shower heads which have the 3-function shower head. The should head always resets back to a setting which has a wide spray. I always have to reset it to third setting. Is there anyway to lock the head into a setting?

        A:  This model is the Flowise water saving series. It will always default back to the 2.0 GPM setting. When it is changed to the other setting(s) it increases water consumption. There is not a way to permanently lock it into the higher consumption setting.

          Q:My Shower only faucet (Model T420.502.295) is leaking from behind the wall when the faucet is operated. No leak when the faucet is not operated. Can I replace the cartridge to solve this problem? If so, what is the part number?

          A:  Dear Sunil, I don't feel that the cartridge will fix the issue if it is leaking behind the wall. It is possible that there may be a crack or hole in the rough in valve itself. Sincerely, AS Customer Care Tech Team
