Q:I have this sink in my home and after 40 years it's just starting to lose it's finish. The cost of reglazing is equal to the cost of a new sink. I hate to toss this one for a new one and be wasteful but I am getting mixed reviews on the cost/benefit of reglazing. What do you recommend for long term care of this sink? Thanks.

A:  We do not have recommendations on how to restore the finish, however; for care and maintenance, we would suggest using Lysol Cleanup, Fantastic, Mr. Clean, Bon-ami, white vinegar, or Pfaltzgraff for metal pan scratches.

              Answer This Question

A:  We offer a touch-up kit called “Porc-A-Fix” and you may purchase it through your local Home Depot, Lowe’s, or directly through American Standard. Depending on the color of the fixture your local retailer may not have your particular color in stock. You can still order your color through special order requests for part 070900-YYY0A (YYY is the color of your model, ex. 020 is white) and it could take up to 14 days to receive the product. Remember you want to be sure or your exact color before ordering. Usually, your color code is on the original receipt, box, or other paper work at the time of purchase. To order from American Standard, we accept Visa and Master Card for our credit card orders. You may call Technical Customer Service at 1-800-442-1902, and then press option 1 for Consumer, then option 1 for Technical Support. Our office is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., EST and Saturday 8am - 6pm. Be prepared to have your model number, color of your model, month/year of purchase, name, street address and phone number. Any of our qualified technical customer service representatives will be glad to assist you. (Canadian customers should call 1-800-387-0369 or 1-905-306-1093 in Toronto, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., EST.) Your order will be billed to your credit card at the time the order is placed. Your statement will reflect a deduction from "Crane Plumbing". All sales are final.
