Answer This Question

A:  The soft close seats seem to be more sensitive to vertical than old-style seats. There could be any several possibilities: - the tank cover on top is pushed forward, reset it - the toilet is not vertical because the tank is not seated all the way - the seat screws are pushed back in the holes too far - the tank is tipped forward. Basically, use a level and see if it's out of plumb, scoot the seat screws forward in the holes and make sure the tank is not tipped forward. I'd try those before shimming the front of the toilet to make it level, most of the time you need to replace the wax gasket because it can leave an air gap when you tip it.

A:  Yes - the lid must be pushed back up frequently.

A:  I brought my slow closing lid last year and this was the best purchase ever. My co-worker recommended this brand and I am happy she did. I will be purchasing two more of these for my other two bathrooms.

A:  On a slow closing seat both the lid and the seat should stay up and slow close.

A:  The only time that I lift the lid with the hole in it is when I clean the bowl. It stays up fine. Hope this helps.

              Answer This Question

A:  I have never heard of a "petit garzon", but it would not be interchangeable with different manufactures or different tanks. Lids are not generic and cannot be used on other models.

A:  This is real easy, the brand lid is made by American Standard for American Standard brand toilets, simple asns plain.

A:  There is no replacement seat for this particular model. There is a gentleman named Alan (the toilet seat guy) that will try to help you. His number is 914-963-1901.

Q:the seat will not stay up!  I've tried to adjust it with no luck.  It seems as though the seat is not totally on a vertical when it's put up.  This problem may have something to do with the decorative tank top that has a scalloped design across the front

A:  Is the tank leaning forward at all? If so, the tank isn't installed quite right. The tank should be flush with the bowl all of the way around. If that isn't the problem, please contact our customer care team at 800-442-1902.

A:  Please go to the American Standard website and put 5325010 in the search box and scroll down. It will provide you with instructions there.

                    by|May 4, 2023

A:  Remove the screws that hold the old seat on the toilet and remove it. Set the new seat in place and hand tighten the screws through the seat screw holes and through the holes in the toilet bowl. Test it by raising the seat/lid and make sure it stays up. If not, move the screws slightly forward so the seat can be vertical. Then tighten with a screwdriver and hold the nut under the bowl with a pair of pliers. You don't need to torque it heavily, the threads are plastic and can strip. If you have a "removable" seat it will have some kind of latching or flap over the screw heads. Depending on the brand, you may have to figure out how to unlatch that flap so you can get to the screw holes in the lid. Look on internet for the brand and model and you'll find real instructions.

A:  Our round toilets are 16.5" and elongated toilets are 18.5". These are standard sizes. Please contact the manufacturer so they can check what the model number of your tank is.

A:  According to American Standard, this seat will fit any oval American Standard toilet. That's one of the reasons I bought it. So, if you have an American Standard oval toilet, no worries. If not, you need to measure from the line from the holes where to the seat attaches to toilet in rear to the front of the toilet. If it's not 18", this seat will not fit. I can tell you that while shopping for seats, everyone I saw stated 18" length.
