Q:I have a Model 0282-800-020 pedestal sink which I installed a few years ago. It has become lose from its base and I don't recall where the nuts or bolts are located to make it more solid again. Can you help? A video would be great. (I am 88 years old.)

A:  Hello Giles, The basin does not have any screws that secure it to the base. There is a screw that secures the pedestal to the floor and two bolts that secure the basin to the wall. The locations of those can be located on the spec sheet in which you can download on this page. Sincerely, Your American Standard Consumer Connection Team

A:  Thanks for the question on the American Standard Retrospect Pedestal sink. As long as the color codes of both product are .020 then they should be comparable as they are they same color. Your American Standard Consumer Connection Team.

A:  It matches the American Standard toilet that I have, but I’m not sure if it’s the toilet referenced.

Q:Can this sink be used as just a wall mount sink? Do you have to have the pedestal too? I have a pee trap and water lines coming out of the wall below the sink. They aren't center well enough to be covered by the pedestal or to straddle the pedestal.

          Answer This Question

A:  Hello, Thank you for reaching out to American Standard Consumer Connection Team. You will need to purchase the pedestal as well, this sink cannot be mounted simply to the wall, the pedestal provides additional support. If you need additional assistance, please visit the American Standard Website, and email us directly through the “Contact Us” section and an American Standard Consumer Connection Advisor will be happy to assist you.

Q:Hi. Can you put a different pedestal under the sink to make it ADA compliant. I need the pedestal to be about 34 inches high.

              Answer This Question

A:  I would think the pedestal should match the sink bottom. Modifying could be problematic. I am not a plumber but you should direct your questions there since they are ADA versed

A:  Diana, Thanks for the question on the pedestal sink. Every pedestal sink would not be ADA compliant. There needs to be free and clear knee space for wheel chair access. Your American Standard Consumer Connection Team.

Q:I have plumbing coming out of floor will plumbing need to be moved

                Answer This Question

A:  Depends. The pedestal is hollow and open on the back and could fit the drain alone inside or the drain and supply lines if close enough together. Of course, the pedestal sits in one place a specific distance from the walls so measurement is critical. Big issue. A drain going into the floor needs an S trap (instead of the P trap for drains going into the wall) and S traps are no longer allowed by code due to the fact that they can be drained of sewer gas stopping water under some conditions.

A:  Sue, Compare the specification sheet to your floor space, that will be the best determination on if your existing plumbing would have to be moved. Your American Standard Consumer Connection Team.
