          A:  The window has a nailing fin and a built in J channel for ease of siding return to the window. The nailing fin could be trimmed off, but the J channel cannot and would extend ¾ inch beyond each side of the frame.

            A:  A new sash can be purchased through your local Home Depot. You would need to provide them with the number from the label on your window.

              Q:The instructions for mulling windows say to begin with the mull prepared windows but does not say what that means. Should the windows be ordered mull prepared , or does the installer prepare them (and if so how)?

              A:  The installer would need to remove the nailing fin on the sides of the window that will attach to the mullion.
