A:  The reason I believe that this item only comes in 3 pieces is that the ceiling does not retain water and these trim kits are made to trim out windows in shower or tub areas and to prevent water damage. I use them all the time in our Apartment complex with 108 units and they work great. but most people do not need to trim out the ceilings around the windows because water does not accumulate on the ceilings, I hope this help. A:  This product has already a finish, however, you can still paint it if you want.

A:  Yes. That is where I used this item. Glue it down and then caulk the edges and joints.

A:  yes it absolutely can. I actually used it once before in a tiled tub to finish the window out, looked great! I used the shower surround adhesive and then used 100% silicone caulk to seal it all up, does the trick.

A:  Thank you for your question, Hepcatkitten! This unit is designed and intended to be used on glue up wall surrounds. The wall should be 1/2" (1.3cm) moisture-resistant drywall. Surfaces must be free of dirt and other residue and painted surfaces must be sanded. It is not generally recommended to install this over ceramic tile, plywood, or wallpaper. Best regards, Edward

Silicone and acrylic latex sealant are not recommended due to potential adhesion and shrinkage, which could lead to leaks. The corners of the window trim kit can be sealed by caulk. For best results, we recommend you use an advanced kitchen and bath polymer sealant such as: -DAP® 3.0™ Kitchen, Bath & Plumbing High Performance Sealant -Red Devil® RD3000™ Advanced Kitchen & Bath Sealant -ECO-BOND® Kitchen-Bath-Plumbing Adhesive and Sealant -Loctite® PL® Heavy Duty Sealant Best regards, Edward

A:  I used 100% silicone no-mold bathroom caulk. I was gluing them down onto Vikrell and a little backerboard. Worked just fine. This product comes with foam tape to use along all the edges. Also be sure to caulk all the joints once the pieces are in place. hope this helps.
