A: I think it is a synthetic bristle. Too cheap to be animal hair.
A: I tested these, and they are plastic, not animal hair.
A: These are made from pig hair. Thanks,
A: These are cheap. Brush - probably something cheap. Toss after one use.
A: Animal hair is only used in the most expensive brushes. All basic brushes that are home use or multi pack brushes are made from nylon hairs.
A: Maybe for that but not for edging walls
A: I think this will work fine for you.
A: yes
A: These brushes are not actually designed for paints and stains, more for glues, adhesives and such. You can use them for paints and stains, but the performance will not be great. They will not hold much material, are not very durable and will shed some bristles when used for those applications. Thanks,
A: I don't see why not. I've used it on many different surfaces....
A: YES
A: No. These are throw away brushes. Good for primer, etc.
A: I USE THESE 4 FIBER GLASS WORK ... OR PAINT WHEN I DON'T CARE IF THE BRISTLES COME OUT WITH THE PAINT .... WHICH THEY WILL .... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR MATT
A: No, I wouldn't use them for quality painting, just touch up or staining.
A: No! Brush hairs come out easily even the first time you paint with them.
A: No - they a quick - cheap throw away types that you would use for one job and throw out. I have actually experience some of the Brissels come out while I used them.
A: I would rate these as disposable
A: No They are to be used and tossed afterwards
A: I consider them to be disposable. The do a great job in a variety of applications but I do not clean them the way I would clean a more expensive brush.
A: Yes
A: Absolutely not. For all other edging and touchup jobs they are indispensable.
A: Please contact your local Home Depot store's Pro Desk for information on bulk orders. Thanks,
A: The best brushes
A: I used it with Stain.
A: I gest so
A: Technically this brush will work but it is not recommended because it will lose a lot of bristles and will leave a lot of brush marks. These brushes are really only recommended for glues and adhesives. A better choice for a 4in brush would be: http://www.homedepot.com/p/4-in-Flat-Polyester-Oil-Brush-HD-1873-0400/205884465 which is designed for oil and solvent based liquids and semi-smooth to semi-rough surfaces like concrete. Thanks,

A: Sorry but because of Home Depot's everyday low pricing on this item, there is not discount on bulk purchases. Thanks,
A: Home Depot does have these in a 15 brush bundle that is near half price of the single brush price.
A: Chip brushes (while made of natural bristle) are not recommended for use with any paint, oil based or otherwise. They do not hold much product, leave a lot of brush marks and will drop bristles in the finish. Chip brushes are ideal for clean up work, solvents, adhesives, paint removers and other non-finish applications, but not for painting.
A: I've used chip brushes with oil primer, just so I didn't have to worry about clean up. (I then painted over with latex paint, with a really good brush.) You can probably get one good use out of them. I wouldn't recommend them for a fine finished look, but if you don't mind a little "rougher" surface, they'll be fine.
A: Chip brushes as the name implies are used to brush oily, metal chips from a mill or lathe to clear the work piece for measuring. The brushes are made with coarse animal bristles that are stiff and oil resistant. Because they are cheap and solvent proof, many home owners use them with oil based paint, and throw them away. Bristle fallout and rough finish are the brushes short comings.
A: Yes, I use them for small oil-based jobs
A: Yes, you can use this with oil based paints.
A: these have been discontinued in case packs
A: Yes
A: If you go online to the following Home Depot web site they offer them in bulk of 24. That makes the price 83 cents each. http://www.homedepot.com/p/2-in-Chip-Brush-24-Pack-1500-24-0200/202197878
A: When I got mine it was in a box that was opened and sold individually. There was boxes there that hadn't been opened. Best thing to do is call the store you want to purchase them from and see if they have the amount you are looking for. If not maybe they can get some from other stores to meet your needs.
