A:  It swings very slightly on the hooks of the stand. It does not swing as a standard motion that would stay constant.

              A:  The hammock hooks into the stand and is able to be unhooked. It can then be used without the stand.

                A:  Theoretically you could attach the hammock to trees or another stand using the included rings. The hammock is pretty crap though.
