A:  Hi This very heavy Cast Iron Stand Coated with plastic is about 18" Tall. When sitting at the table you don't notice it. But I highly recommend you get this to stabilize the umbrella. It is a very nice piece of your patio set. Be careful it weighs about 30lbs. Which keeps the base stable in Florida high winds
