    Q:Is the top one solid piece of slate, or slate tiles set into a grid? If separate tiles in a grid, what size(s) are they?

    A:  Top is separate pieces of slate in a rectangular pattern, largest pieces about 5"x15", others are cut smaller to fit, a dark grout holds them in place. Note, slate color may vary from photo, which shows a golden/rust color slate. My table has very dark brown slate.
