Answer This Question

A:  It's not real critical; a pan-head or round-head wood screw, #8 or #10 would be good, and 3/4 inch or 1 inch length will be sufficient, though you could go longer.

A:  I use at least a 1" to 1-5/8" #8 Screw for a good grip. Straps should be "near" the ends of the tubing, including any joints.

        Answer This Question

A:  While it would work if the conduit OD is about right, it is not listed for this use and would be a code violation. If you don't have a copy of the NEC or don't understand it, hire a contractor.

Q:What screw is recommeded for these straps on drywall?

              Answer This Question

A:  You'll need to use an actual anchor going into drywall or be sure to fasten into a stud. Attaching with just a screw into drywall will get you a failed inspection.
