Answer This Question

A:  Hi Barry, unfortunately, our prefabricated sections only are offered in plastic grates. If you are looking for a galvanized grate on a prefabricated section, customer would purchase an additional grate and cut on site and fit on the prefabricated section.

Q:The drain filter basket is causing my yard to flood due to the fact it only takes a small amount of pine straw debris to clog it. Is the filter designed to be removable? It doesn't want to come out with hand force. I need it gone.

      Answer This Question

A:  The grate in this part is not removable. The grate prevents debris from getting into and clogging your drain pipes. Here are a couple things you can do to prevent the clogging from occurring inside the channel. 1 - Place a row of gravel along both sides of the channel. The gravel will allow water to still drain into the grate, but will stop the pine needles. 2 - Remove the grates from the channel. Wrap them in replacement window screen. Place the grates back on the channel. The screen will prevent the needles from getting into the channel. A leaf blower can be used to remove the needles from the channel. Regular removal of pine needles will need to be done in all cases. Pine needles do a great job a clogging grates and reducing flow.

        Answer This Question

A:  Unfortunately no, this channel does not have a 2" outlet. You will have to use an adapter to convert from 3" sewer and drain pipe down to the 2" pipe you are using. Flexible rubber couplings are generally the easiest product to use in this case.
