A:  You will tear up the grass if you try a line trimmer. Just raise your cutting height until it all disappears.

Q:Can that be used to hold back grass and weeds from growing on a steep ditch, so you don't have to constantly mow&trim? Anyone has any experience with that? Thx

A:  IMO it will not stop grass/week from growing. The grass and weeds will simply grow through it as its made for new seed.

    A:  I would say NO. Any grass that has started to grow could be torn out of the ground. You defeat the stabilization factor of using the mat.
