          Answer This Question

A:  in a garage/workshop this is up to your local code this insulation is unfaced so I would use vapor barrier between insulation and wood/drywall walls in workshop and garage to stop insulation from falling out over time

Q:Is this supposed to expand to full the entire depth of the stud bay? I’ve unpacked it, fluffed it and let is sit for several days. Most of the batts don’t get any thicker than 2” leaving a bunch of unfilled space. Seems like it’s been compressed in packaging too long and won’t expand. Did i just get a bad batch? I really wanted to use this product but it’s just not usable in it’s compressed state. Having to order a palett of 12 bags is a huge disadvantage as I would like to return the 50% of the batts which are unusable.

            Answer This Question

A:  If you're using standard two-by-fours 16in on Center, the space between them should be 14 and a half inches, 15in is perfect to compress just enough to fit in and stay in place.
