This is a good sized light for our use. It would be great in many situations. A hall with high ceiling, a nice high ceilinged living room, etc.. We put it over our dining room table to warm it up and shed some good light. It takes 3 standard base incandescent bulbs not to exceed 60 watts so i immediately put in 3 Philips Slimline Softwhite LED standard base bulbs each with a 75 watt equivalency rating. The total actual wattage for the 3 LED's is 38 watts combined. And this works like a dreamboat on the dimmer switch that was on the chandelier that we removed. I installed it myself and it wasn't too bad. But I'd have to say I'm handier than many folks. It's heavy so two people would be best. It's all kind of put together with the ornamental hanging "linkage" that you see on it. While I put it up alone, the large glass 'shade' would naturally bump into the into parts of the 'linkage'. It's going to happen unless you are VERY careful, as the shade and outer ornamental ring are all hanging together on the 'linkage'. By the way, the shade is like a bowl sitting on a table. The light bulbs are inside it from the top side. So none of the bulbs show, as the frosted shade hides them. But back to the installation and the shade rubbing against the ornamental metal "oil rubbed bronze" finish. And it is a finish, it's not made of brass. So the finish on the metal (it would be the same if it was metal) comes off on the frosted shade. Speaking of 'frosted' I'd say the glass is coated with a frosted finish but I could be wrong. So the shade surface is 'porous' or has the feel of a blackboard, so it takes to what you bump into it rather readily. Long story short, I had some 2000 grit wet/dry abrasive paper that I was able to remove the dark marks that I put on the shade when hanging it up alone. I was very worried about removing the 'frosted' coating on the shade and having big blemishes of bare glass showing where I used the wet/dry 2000 grit paper. I used it REAL LIGHTLY until the metal marks were gone and it turned out fine. So you're getting the look and feel of a $1,300.00 fancy oil rubbed bronze pendant light with the somewhat delicate technology of finishes on baser metals and coatings on the glass shade. I don't see any reason why it won't hold up and perform like a bronze frosted glass shade light if taken care of properly. I see it as a very good value and good looking hanging light. But treat it gently! Maybe cover the shade by taping on a cloth cover that could be easily removed when the install is done. Hey, I just thought of that....it would do the trick and take some worry out of marking the shade. Then again, maybe I'm out of my mind!

Pros Well Made, Unique, Eco-Friendly, Looks Great, Good Size & Weight, Nice Design Cons finishes somewhat delicate
