I waited about a week from when I ordered my door to when I actually received an email stating that my door had arrived. I went that same day to pick up the door, brought it home and started in packing the products. Although my glass was not broken, I was surprised it only had thin cardboard around it.
The real issue came, of course, as I was about the complete the install. When the instruction manual called for the installation of the door handle I quickly realized my parts did not look the same. I was clearly missing the rod that connects both handles. Without this, both handles just flopped down and wouldn't turn simultaneously. I jump in the car with the handle pieces and drive to the store to see if that rod is available. I speak with one gentleman who tells me unique designs makes their own hardware not sold in stores. They are hesitant to open up a new box and provide me the missing piece but they eventually did the right thing. (I appreciate it!) I drive my happy butt back home ready to install the door handle and associated hardware. I should have read the entire manual before heading to the store because the screws that hold the lock in place were also missing! Luckily I had spare hardware that fit. I would recommend someone spend the money on a custom door that includes installation for a couple hundred dollars more than dealing with this headache. I have installed security doors before and have the right tools including the special driver for the screws but this manufacturer's product made me want to never do it again.
