A: Sgtmclain, these moulded handrails are 6 ft. in length. The picture of the stair railing shows a set of stairs that are longer than then 6 ft. length. Because of this, there is a post in the center than connects the two stair railing sections, providing railing for the entire length of the stairs. Due to various building codes, it's always best to ensure a certain product will be code compliance in your specific region prior to installation.

Perfect for our Project

These molded rails were exactly what we needed to finish our project if you want something more fancy than a flat 2x4. The only issue we had was that not all 2x4s are created equal so the channel cut into these railings were too snug and we had to router them out a bit to fit on the rails. Small price to pay for the payoff though as these look stunning on our railing and were far easier than creating the molded pieces ourselves.

Not warped, clear of knots, with a single channel that easily fits the edge of a standard 2x6 (1.5x5.5). The store had 23 in stock and had very little difficulty in finding six that were in pristine condition. Would highly recommend.

Better looking rail than 5/4 decking

This is a nice looking rail cap. It has a large enough channel to accept 1 1/2” side of 2 x4. If you need longer than 6’ they must be scarfed together. These rails are not clear. Some have large knots. Be prepared to do some picking.

Really? Is the moulder using an old worn out bit? Cant read a tape measure? I do not have a router. Going to finish my project without them and take the 3 I did not cut back for refund
