I have had to purchase this toilet seat 4 times in the past 3 years as the seat breaks between the hinge and the support "bumper" on the bottom side. This seat is NOT made of solid wood (as you would think) but made of chopped, compressed wood type material. After about a year's use, it BREAKS. Unfortunately I have to keep buying this particular seat as the toilets (I have 2) are Biscuit color and to find an elongated seat that isn't totally flimsy plastic and the right color, there just isn't anything on the market. The manufacturer needs to at least place four (4) support "bumpers" on the under side of the seat to give it proper support so the seat doesn't continue to break from the weight of someone sitting on it.
We are NOT heavy or overweight people so there should not be this issue with the seat breaking every 10 to 12 months. Lousy engineering. If the seat was made of solid wood, then 2 "bumpers" would suffice, but the manufacture has chosen to make this seat out of chopped, pressed, formed material that just does not stand up to weight over time. Sad as it is, I am forced to keep buying this inferior product.
So, if anyone of importance regarding the manufacturing of this product reads this..........how about making this seat with four (4) support bumpers!!! Maybe that will help.
