Suncourt's Dryer Boosting Kits are ideal for solving residential, commercial and industrial dryer vent problems where more airflow is needed. Most dryers are designed to vent about 15 ft. of duct. They supplement the fan in your dryer to enhance its efficiency. Their in-line construction allows for easy installation as well as reduced clogging. They have a high temperature rating up to 140 Degree F/60 Degree C. The fan has thermal overload protection and features an automatic reset. The Suncourt Dryer Boosting Kits come with an accurate, reliable current sensing switch that turns the fan on and off when it senses current from the dryer. Stack effect, wind and installation can interfere with the operation of pressure switches by starting the fan unnecessarily or simply not turning the fan on when required.

      • Corrected excessive dryer vent run condensation problem.

I have a very long dryer vent run through my attic. It would allow moisture from the dryer to condensate in the pipe, drip out the pipe seams/joints, and make my attic insulation and upstairs ceiling wet. It also would collect lint on the wet vent walls. After some research, I found that the home builder did not know the limits of my dryer's built-in fan (10 to 15 feet discharge run max, with each 90* elbow counting as 5 feet). My vent pipe has three elbows, a 10 foot vertical pipe, and about 25 feet of horizontal pipe... I have MUCH more "discharge head length" than the maximum dryer designed discharge. I purchased this booster fan and installed it in about an hour. I placed it in the attic and used the switch that was provided with the unit to activate it when the dryer is running (cycles on and off with the dryer). With this switch, the booser fan only runs when needed (and my wife doesn't have to remember to manually switch it on and off). It was immediately appearant that the unit was helping my problem... a load of cloth that took 1.5 to 2 hours to dry previously now only takes between 30 and 45 minutes. AND, you can't hear the booster fan run (I mounted it between two rafters with a piece of plywood and placed flex vent piping on either side so it wouldn't transmit noise down the dryer vent pipe). I have used it now for a couple of months and have not had any more condensation issues in the attic vent pipe. I have a mechanical and electrical background, so my installation time may not reflect yours. For that matter, I would recommend having an electrician install/inspect the wiring to ensure it is up to code. As for the supplied switch, it is a "CT" style switch that seams to work best if it is used with the white common wire on the dryer feed. I would recommend this product. I am also concidering purchasing another to install as a bathroom vent when we remodel next year... it can again be mounted in the attic and I believe it would be quieter than the current bathroom fan. Just food for thought.
