This is a good door stop to use when the door does not open into a flat wall where a spring or solid doorstop can be used, or when you want to avoid having a doorstop "in the way". I've used doorstops similar to these in the past and this was about the same. Since I needed antique brass, my choices were limited. This one had 2 features I did not like. First, the hole where the hinge pin holds the door stop in place was too large without the plastic insert and too small with the plastic insert in place. It will work but is loose on the hinge pin. Second, the rubber button on the adjusting screw is fairly small and is rounded. So, when the door is opened hard, it tends to dent either the door or the casing (depending on which way it is installed). This is much less an issue with the flat surface on the opposite side of the door stop. This is easy to install and to adjust to limit how far the door will open.
