CBS Galvanized Standoff Column Base for 6x6 Nominal Lumber

The CBS column bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base and are therefore not recommended for non-top supported installations such as fences. We do have an embedded post base that does provide resistance against rotation, and that is our Moment Post Base (MPBZ). I would recommend reviewing that base series with a design professional. They would be responsible for determining if it would be "strong enough." Enter CBS66 in the Search field at the top left corner on strongtie.com. Click on the image and scroll down to the allowable vertical load values. You may want to consult with a design professional to determine if this provides a solution for your post frame building. The galvanization is intended for a low corrosive environment. The CBS66HDG has a hot dip galvanization finish intended for a medium corrosive environment. Enter Corrosion in the Search field, scroll down to Content and click on Corrosion Information for Connectors and Fasteners. A:  Hello Guy1, I am Colin with Simpson Strong-Tie. The interior grade CBS66 (exterior CBS66HDG) cast-in-place post base for a 6x6 column does have two 5/8" diameter holes in the stirrup below the stand-off base plate. These are "pilot" holes used during the production stamping process. We do not have any guidance on tying the column base into rebar through those holes.
