About This Product

SilveRboard HD ( high density )- (10 sheets, 2 ft. x 4 ft. x 2 in. - R10) 80 sq. ft. under slab insulation is a high performance, high compression strength (35 psi) flat-sheet insulation material made from expanded polystyrene (EPS) which is bonded to a reflective film laminated on both sides. This highly effective combination of materials offers a high R-value per inch exceptional board toughness and load capacity compared to traditional flat-sheet rigid foam insulation, as well as provides a built-in moisture and air barrier. This non perforated SilveRboard rigid foam insulation (EPS) offers builders a higher performance product which increases job-site efficiency and reduces labor costs. No off-gassing and does not contain fluorocarbons, exceptional long-term thermal resistance (LTTR), and increased thermal resistance in lower temperatures.

Highlights

  • SilveRboard SB35 high density is a non structural rigid insulation board with a layer of reflective metalized polypropylene film on both sides which increases board strength and flexibility reducing job site and handling damage and waste
  • Designed to be installed below-grade and under high- load concrete slab applications, as continuous insulation, includes a vapor barrier and reduce thermal bridging - ideal for under commercial slabs, driveways, sidewalks and foundation walls
  • Exceptional long-term thermal resistance in lower temperature - SilveRboard insulation installed below-grade outperforms XPS insulation: exhibiting better R-value retention and a lower moisture absorption over extended freeze-thaw cycles
  • Creates a thermal envelope for maximum heat/cooling efficiency, the non-perforated film functions as a vapor barrier when joints are taped with an approved vapor barrier tape

Q:Can i use these 2” sheets layed on top of each other to achieve 6” height with 2 “ concrete topping
by|Feb 13, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Yes- Ideally cross lay each layer for max strength. If you need to have a vapor barrier you only need to tape the joints together on the bottom layer. Good Luck, HC

Q:What kind of adhesive is used to glue double-laminated silveRboard 2" underslab insulation panels to underside of concrete slab?
    by|Jan 11, 2024
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  There is no requirement at all to glue insulation to the underside of a concrete slab -basically the slab floats on the insulation allowing for expansion and contraction without cracking. Good Luck, HC

Q:Can this be glued together to ideally gain a bond that is as strong as the base material? What glue is compatible/recommended? Would bond it to itself, and in places with wood, and aluminum. It would be for a travel trailer.

      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  PL300 or PL fast grab are both ideal for laminating sheets together or bonding to wood or steel. If these panesla re going to be part of the trailer wall structural component they will need to have mechanical fasteners like screws from one outer face to the inner face. Good Luck, HC

Q:Can this product be used on the interior walls of a crawl space? Planning on encapsulating the crawl space.
        by|Dec 6, 2023
        1 Answer
        Answer This Question

A:  Yes- It can be screwed or glued to the walls - unless your walls sweat significantly, do not tape the joints so there is opportunity for drying and air movement. If the walls are damp to the touch you should then tape the joints to form a full vapor barrier. Good Luck, HC
