About This Product

The SaniCompact is a self-contained system that is used to install a half-bathroom up to 9 ft. below the sewer line, or even up to 120 ft. away from a soil stack. The SaniCompact can handle the effluent from a toilet and sink for residential applications. The SaniCompact is a combination of a vitreous China toilet bowl and macerator/pump built into 1 compact unit. This modern shaped self-contained China toilet is especially designed with several ideas in mind: For situations where there is not enough space. As a toilet that uses a minimum amount of water. As a toilet for use with people that have physical limitations. The SaniCompact needs no gravity flow tank as the flushing action and macerating pump cycle is automatic after pressing a push button on top of the bowl. The flushing mechanism is electrically timed to allow water to pass through the toilet. By pressing the push button, this activates a timer and a solenoid valve in order to fill and wash the sides of the bowl. The motor starts and the waste and paper are sucked inside where it is macerated and pumped away. The motor stops after approximately 10 to 15 seconds and the timer programs the refill of the bowl with fresh water. The standard dual flush version uses 1.28 GPF (4.8 LPF) and 1 GPF (3.8 LPF).

Highlights

  • Build a half bath for residential applications
  • Also highly recommended for the macerator/pump to be connected to a ground fault interrupter (GFI) circuit
  • Standard dual flush 1.28 GPF and 1.0 GPF
  • Includes seat
  • Allows the connection of a sink
  • Discharge elbow on the back of the SaniCompact can be rotated 360° to fit any type of installation required; a non-return valve, which comes already assembled on the discharge elbow, prevents back flow into the unit
  • SaniCompact is a forced main and does not need to vented and connected to a vent stack; other fixtures may need to be vented as per local plumbing codes

Q:I need a new toilet seat for this? Having a hard time finding one that fits correctly?
by|Apr 10, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  That is understandable. The US toilet manufacturers have, for the most part standardized around 51/2” center to center on toilet seat to bowl mounting holes. The Europeans and Asian manufactures don’t have a single standard and the distance is metric. As this toilet is made outside Paris France it comes with and uses a European seat. European seats are available online on or a Saniflo seat can be special ordered through Home Depot goes by Saniflo part number C48. Chris 978 651 3300

    Q:Where does the waste go
    by|Apr 1, 2024

    Answer This Question

A:  I am not sure I understand your question. This is a toilet with an integral waste pump. The unit would be piped so that the waste can be pumped to the home’s current waste system. It is used in applications where the structure does not allow for gravity drain lines. For example, in many homes the waste line exits through the wall. If you want to add a basement bath you need to pump the waste up to the gravity waste drainpipe. In those situations, this product can sometimes be the answer.

Q:Is there any reason the drain cannot be directed down from the drain outlet? I want to install one in an attic so dont need an upward vertical trajectory. I need to move the waste down about 10' before I can connect it to the main stack.

      Answer This Question

A:  As a plumber I would typically not do that because it is needlessly complex. If you have 10’ of elevation I would run conventional waste and vent lines powered by gravity. Thus avoiding the potential pitfalls associated with a sewage pump. As a general rule in plumbing you don’t pump down. Again as you still need to run waste and vent lines I don’t see the benefit and I see downside, but I guess in theory you could.

Q:Can I connect a shower instead of a sink to the toilet drain

        Answer This Question

A:  This listing is for a complete condensate neutralization filter. The neutralization media can be changed and refill kits are available. If you scroll down the Home Depot product listing page you will come to a section entitled Product Details. If you expand that section you will find PDFs of the product documents. The specification sheet details what is included and information about the media refills.

Contractor installed easily and unit works flawlessly as described. It saved some space in our small basement bathroom as it uses up 10 inches less space than a conventional toilet. The noise is no worse than a normal toilet flush probably since it's bolted to a cement floor which aids in sound reduction.. Very happy with this purchase and worth every penny.

Product Shipped and delivered ahead of schedule. Plumber came by to check it out, scheduled an installation date and installed very easily (for a professional, I didn't do any of it myself). We did a vertical line with the pipe bending at about 4 feet and then down to the stack based on where he could cut and modify the stack for the Y pipe. I also had him install a sink which was connected to the unit. Everything was done and tested within about 4 hours max. It works as described and is a solid solution for a 1/2 bath without the need to dig up your basement floor. Yes, it's more expensive than a conventional toilet, but for the above ground ease of installation, it is beyond worth it.

            Install notes
Works well. Not having a tank on the back provides extra space in the room. Drain pipe required is 1 inch schedule 40 - I used white PVC. Pipe installation is quite precise, location wise. Pumps up to 9 feet but any horizontal sections should be sloped 5 degrees towards sewer. Less 90s the better (2 45s at each 90 is recommended). Do not recommend doing final drain placement until actual unit can be placed.

Looked like a good fit for my laundry room.
The product was damaged and had to be return. Since i could not reuse my special financing coupon i purchased a newer model from a different company for $200 cheaper.

Only problem is the toilet was found to be cracked when unpackaged. Returned for refund.
