Colors are way off in illustration--but from reading reviews on other sites for this rug, I was not surprised (all images on all sites are way off--why can't companies get photos that actually match the product?), and the paler, lighter colors were exactly what I wanted. All colors are a few tones lighter than portrayed; background is ivory, and what looks to be dark brown in the picture is really a light gold and a light brown. The design is what attracted me: art nouveau, excellent in my Arts and Crafts dining room. But: rug arrived with a strong chemical smell. I sprayed it all over with Febreze and that took care of it, but I should not have had to do that. Rug is also exactly the size advertised, 8' x 10'. However, the biggest disappointment was the thickness; on other sites this rug is advertised (and consistently reviewed as) being over half an inch thick. This rug is quite thin, not nearly that pile height, more like an eighth of an inch. I put this down to bad copying of info in Inventory, but I'm wondering now if there are two versions of this rug, one the "original" (rug has been advertised for sale for well over a year) that's thick and plush, and another "knockoff" version, like the one I got, which is closer to a flatweave. Also made in China. I am also wondering if it's really wool...it doesn't shed because there's not a lot of pile to shed, and cat picks are going to be a problem. Overall I'm happy with the rug, but mystified as to the difference between what I received and reviews of the same rug on other sites.
