Q:Does this curved grab bar work with 72232900-0 shower back wall

A:  I can not say for sure that this will fit that shower wall. They were made to work with the Accord backer in place shower walls. All I can suggest is to order it and if it does not fit , return it.

      A:  Yes it should, make sure it has a wood reinforcement piece in back of the back wall.

This grab bar is compatible with the 72290100-0; however, this wall-set set does not have Age-in-Place backer bars for installing grab bars. We would recommend choosing model 72290106-0 which does have factory installed backer boards. In lieu of backer boards, please follow the installation guide regarding adding support for the grab bar. https://bit.ly/2S7Yv3W Thank you for choosing Sterling.

This bar is designed for the Accord models, however, there are no backerboards installed in this model. The following models have boards installed for the installation of this bar: 71154103-V/N, 71154106, and 71154100. Thank you for choosing Sterling.

                A:  Yes it is curved and does require a curved grab bar. A supportive backing must be installed on the wall studs before the shower surround is placed. It is necessary for the strength and proper support/ function /safety of the Grab bar. The only grab bar I found for the sterling shower surround is the Sterling grab bar.

                      Needed a curved hand rail for new Sterling shower kit. Saved literally hundreds of dollars by purchasing the shower kit without the included hand rails option. Found this one that matched one of the rails offered. Easy to install, very sturdy, and works perfectly the way it was designed. I mounted the rail prior to installing the back panel of the shower kit to the wall, using wood backing panels for the screws to attach to.

                      Tool required to tighten the bar is not a common item and very difficult locate in any store. Perhaps providing a 9inch long 1/8 inch hex head would benefit installation on this ridiculously expensive item.
