I needed to pour foundations for six columns for a carport I'm building. These plastic footings were just the right thing. They're expensive, almost $20 a piece when you throw in shipping, but they do not have to be disposable, at least for me because the upper cones were all less than a foot in length. I needed six foundations, and I used the same plastic footing for each one. Just coat the inside of the footing with motor oil, and about six hours after pouring the concrete in the footing mold, scrape away excess concrete over the form and pull the tabs out of concrete at the base of the cone. At about eight to ten hours, tap all around with a plastic mallet and gently pull up and coax the plastic mold away from the concrete. leaving the cone in place. You can tear the cardboard cone off later.

Pros Easy to Use, Easy to Work With, Light Weight Cons expensive
