A:  We suggest that you use a stiff nylon brush and a mild detergent to clean the stain off the surface. But over time the product will eventually wash away. For more product information reach out to Quikrete Customer Support (800)-282-5828.

      Answer This Question

A:  Quikrete Mortar Repair Sealant 10oz. We suggest that if rain threatens or is predicted within 12 hours not to use the material. If applied correctly, per instructions 3/8” wide x 3/8” depth being exposed to rain or snow within 3 hours should not cause the product to bleed it may affect it by taking longer to dry and set. For more detailed instructions give Quikrete Customer Support a call (800)-282-5828

        Answer This Question

A:  Quikrete Mortar Repair 10 oz. can be used for repointing the cobblestone foundation. We suggest that the repairs do not exceed 3/8” in depth. If the joints repairs are deeper, we suggest using the Quikrete Mason Mix Type S Mortar (No. 1136).

MIsleading labeling and change of product
I have used this product for years. It WAS excellent. Quikrete has drastically changed the formula, but kept the same product code. Vendors have not updated pictures. If you used and liked this product before, you will NOT like the new 'stuff'. It has a light whitish color and barely any texture. Feels slimy compared to the old version which felt like real mortar. Attached picture has both cartridges. The new version has ACRYLIC above the product name and has a white band at the top. Beware.

            No consistency in color
I’ve used Quikcrete Mortar Repair for years with excellent results unfortunately I can no longer recommend the product due to color change or mislabeled items. I ran out of one tube and started on the next (both labeled Gray) yet you can see from the picture they are two completely different colors

              Not grey at all
I bought this to do a trim like effect on some stone panels i just installed with bagged mortar. When it dried, it wasn’t the grey that it was and was indeed white. Now it looks weird and i have to find a way to cover it. Tip: going over it with bag mortar doesn’t cover it. Very disappointed.

I used a lots of other types of products and this one is the best so far.
This is the best caulking you can use on brick mortar.

                Perfect match
Used this product to repair some stone veneer mortar that had cracked (lower portion of brick in the picture) and the gray was a very close match.

                  Not the right gray
When I applied this on my brick it did not look like the photo's gray. It applied a much darker gray and now I'm stuck with this very obvious patch.

Glad i discovered this product !
This is not like the smooth gray stuff that sticks out like a sore thumb and looks just plain ugly. This is textured and matches great, best ive ever seen and is easy to apply. How it holds up to weather, age, etc, i don't know since i just used it recently. I put blue tape on the surrounding bricks to keep them clean, but its really not a messy product. When you first open the tube, a liquid will come out before you get to the sealant so be prepared for that.

First problem was it would not even come out of the tube. I ended up ripping the tube open to spread it by hand. Second problem is there was black rocks in it......not sand......rocks. There is absolutely no way this is normal for mortar. It is also very dark compared to normal mortar. Now I have to rip it out and start over with a different product. This is a quality company but I think they had a manufacturing issue when they made this batch.

Chinking a cabin is expensive. This product is the same ingredients only cheaper to chink a cabin. Its like a concrete and caulking mix. And easy to install after a youtube intro to chinking a log home.:-)

I was going to try a caulk instead of mortar to fill in the cut mortar joints on my chimney after replacing the counter flashing. I used the Quikrete mortar repair as it seemed like it was made for this task - wrong. I thankfully only replaced 2 flashings and then stopped. The next day this stuff had a slightly dried skin with a soft gooey center. It has a very weird consistency: soft barely sticky chewing gum with gravel; maybe paper mâché and grit? I really don't get the purpose of this stuff. I scarped out this mess and decided to just go the traditional route and used mortar.
