It's an okay tool. It's not as long as they say unless you include the cord. The saw cuts really well and oils itself good enough. Its heavier than you can hold with one hand and after a cut beware it's going to drop. I add a extension to to reach 12 ft and a switch at my hands, turn off quick after the cut. This tool isn't for the non-athlete DANGEROUS

Pros : 1. Sturdy - it looks well made. 2. It has an easily adjustable chain tension. 3.It extends to a longer reach that other pole saws I have used. Cons: 1. It is rather heavy, a strain to use. 2. The saw was inoperative when received. I had to disassemble the saw and found a bad solder joint on a connector that carries electrical power to the motor. Re-soldered joint and the saw works OK. The rest of the saw looked well made. I should have sent the saw back, but had a tree that needed to be trimmed that day, so I repaired it.

Long enough to the job for me. No problem cutting large branches at all. Takes a little manuring with such a long pole but after some use I got use to handling it quite well. Did use a couple steps on the step ladder. Had to tape the plug connection together to keep it from unplugging while in use. I do recommend adjusting the cutting chain after about an hour of cutting, to be sure it wont jump off it's track.

Decent quality for a good price!
Bottom Line: If you are on a budget, this is not a bad buy for the price. If you have the money to go spend on a brand name pole saw, you could find better quality. General: 120V corded electric pole saw can be very useful for maintaining and trimming trees around the house. This pole saw surpassed all my expectations. My first impression of it was not the best, as it looks like it was made of fairly cheap materials. However this pole saw performs. I decided to see how long it would last, before it broke down. The tree shown on the video was completely trimmed with this pole saw. The chain came out of the tracks one time because I was trying to cut at a very sharp angle. Putting the chain back on the tracks was fairly simple. No tools are necessary as it comes with its own turning knob. Material/Construction: Although the pole saw seems cheap at first sight, it is well made and it is durable. After cutting the tree shown in the video, I cut down 2 mature areca palm trees down to their roots. Those are not hard wood, however there is a lot of debris that comes out of them. I was fairly pleased again with the performance of the pole saw. Functionality: Very pleased with the functionality of this item. It does what it is intended to do. Make sure you add oil before using it the first time, and monitor the oil level while in use. I did have to add oil about every 30 minutes of constant use. Easiness of use: Easy to use. Plug and play pretty much. The pole extends to about 10 feet long.

    Great Electric Pole Saw
This is a nice quality, corded electric pole saw. Assembly is as simple as just twisting the two poles together and takes just a matter of seconds. The telescoping pole is adjustable from 7.8 ft to 15 ft, allowing for substantial reach! I used this electric pole saw on small dogwood that had unfortunately died, and the saw performed remarkably well. I did have some slipping/catching initially, but once it dug into the branch a little, it began to slice like a hot knife in butter. The saw comes with a small plastic chain guard, to protect it while not in use. The chainsaw is not able to be separated from the pole for separate use. Additionally, this product does not come with chain lubrication, so be sure to get some!

    Tops in performance and safety
The first time I put this to task on 3 and 4 inch branches, I was expecting to have to wait on the saw to slowly chip its way through each one in maybe 15 or 20 seconds. Boy was I ever surprised when it zipped right through in about 2 or 3 seconds at the most! The motor is surprisingly quiet, not anything like a gas powered saw. It's fairly light weight and easily maneuvers into position. The pole, even at full length, is very rigid and doesn't wobble at all. From the tip of the saw to the end of the handle, it measures 7' fully retracted and 8 1/2' fully extended. Once located at the cut site, you let it rest on the branch and allow its weight to work for you as it cuts through. The chain speed is quite fast which makes for a very smooth cutting action. No catching or tugging, just a continuous, uninterrupted cut. I have both types of pole saws, battery operated and this electric one. Even though you have to contend with an extension cord, the much higher motor speed of the electric far outweighs the portability advantage of the battery operated saw. There really is no comparison to the two in performance and with a 100' extension cord, you can cover a lot of ground. I even prefer using this over my regular chain saw, and use it almost exclusively now, since I feel safer having the saw chain located further away from me. Performance and safety, can't beat it.

    Impressive
To be perfectly honest I do not know why I did not get one of these sooner. I used this to trim low hanging branches on my large shade tree in my back yard. It cuts branches like a hot knife through butter. No problem cutting through branches the diameter of a quarter. The pole has an adjustable length and is extremely well built and very rugged. The max length from tip to tip is 9 ft. 6 in. long. The cutting blade is 8 in. long and comes with a chain protector. The directions say a wrench is included but I used a 5/32 Allen key to adjust the tension on the chain. Very easy to do so without taking it apart. Good idea to clean behind the guide bar cover before or after each use. Saw dust accumulates heavily behind there. Chain oil is not included or pre-filled. It is recommended to use SAE 30 in summer and SAE 10 in winter. I used chain saw oil from my local Home Depot. The only draw back I experienced is that the chain saw is not easily removable from the pole and can only be powered by the existing cord inside the pole. Large long branches on the ground were difficult to cut without the help of another person to hold them.

I purchased this to trim a Pygmy Date Palm Tree. The pole saw did a great job of trimming the leaflets on three of the four branches. It stopped working before I could start the fourth branch. Instructional booklet and website do not list any troubleshooting tips. Unfortunately I didn’t use this until after the return window. Frustrating waste of money.
