First off carefully inspect every piece you purchase BEFORE you leave Home Depot. I didn't scrutinize every piece, and had to return 3 damaged pieces, and 4 pieces missing parts. It wasn't all at once as I discovered them during installation. I had previously installed about 26 feet of this railing on my front porch. I set each one section at a time, and five 4' sections, and one 6' section took over 9 hours. As I got to the end of the 20' run, I had to repeatedly unbolt the line posts to finish the installation. At the end of the project, I realized the best way to install this railing. Don't bolt anything down in the middle until all sections are complete. I bought enough to do 84 feet of railing around a deck. I set the wall mount, and the corner post along a 25 foot run. Best way to figure out mounting for the wall mount is to use a center post, or end post as a pattern. Set the bottom wall mount first. Set the top rail wall mount after the section is complete. Set the cornet post, snug but do not tighten the bolts. Working each end one 4 foot section at a time, I made it to the middle. Set the bottom rail, set the pickets and spacers placing a picket against the wall or post, and work your way to the end of the rail. Measure the remaining space on the rail and cut 4 pieces half that distance placing one short spacer at each end. This will center the pickets and you need 2 spacers for the bottom, and 2 for the top. You are going to need a hacksaw because 4', 6', or anything in between doesn't come out evenly without having to make a cut. I used a miter saw with metal blade to cut the railing. If you're left with an inch or two, pull out a spacer and picket, and half that distance. You'll still be less than the length of an entire spacer. If you're using the diamond spacers every other spacer, you are aiming to achieve an odd number of spacers, and even number of pickets. Do not bolt anything down in between the corner and wall or corner and corner until all sections are completed. Once all sections are completed, work from one end and align the posts one at a time bolting them into position. I was able to complete a 25' section in 2 hours by myself. I completed the next run of 16' in 1.5 hours, and an 18 foot run in 1.5 hours. The next day I finished off the shorter runs of 7', 2', 6', and 2' in 4 hours. It took about 1 hour to hang each gate. The stairs are a different story. It took me 2.5 hours to hang the first 30" section. Once I figured out a method to measuring the lengths that needed to be cut for the stairs, I used the same principle of mounting the bottom rail first. Having some bottom railing pieces lying around, I used them as spacers between the stair and bottom stair rail. Blue painter's tape held them securely to the bottom rail during installation. After the first one was done, the last 3 stair rails took about 1 hour each. This isn't a pre-made sectional system. It will take a little time to get a pattern down on installing it, but once you have the pattern down, it goes fast. I anticipated the project would take me 4-5 days, and was amazed that I got it done in less than 3 days. One of the best features is the ability to replace a single bent picket, rather than having to replace an entire 4' section. One of the worst features is they give you no room to lose a screw or have one break off a head. Even including one spare screw would be a great benefit.

Pros High Quality of Material, Easy to Install, Stylish, Light Weight Cons no room for lost or broken screws, instructions provide no measurements
