Might have rocks? Choose a different option.
Using my skidsteer to push this post in and 80% down it must have hit a big rock. The base twisted and she’s toast. So, I wouldn’t recommend in you have pit run gravel or large boulders that make up your road base. Guess I’ll try the L bracket anchor and see if I have better luck with smaller surface area.

This post anchor was perfect for the 4 in. x 4 in. x 4-1/2 ft. Pressure-Treated Wood Double V-Groove Deck Post we mounted to hold a rain gauge. It made the installation very easy, we were just sure to check that we were level from all angles and we were fine.

I chose this because it is one continuous piece of steel, not one that requires tightening a bolt. It is far more attractive, practical, and stronger that way. The post anchor drove easily into Florida sand, I can't testify to any other soil. It comes with holes for decking screws to secure the post, but I drilled them slightly larger and used galvanized lag bolts and washers. There is also a drain hole to prevent premature post rot. All in all very well designed and of great build quality. A great value for the money. Make sure to check with your utilities before hammering this into the ground.

These work better than expected, they drive into hard ground and stay put. I am only partial done with my build but these have made the install so much easier than having to dig post holes. These would be excellent for installing a mail box, mine are for a trash can storage fenced area. I cut a 1 foot section of 4x4 as a sledge hammer insert driver (works great). Be sure to check for plumb and alignment 5-6 times as you drive them in making small adjustment as needed.

The OZ-Post anchors are exactly what we needed. We ordered the level, plus the driver, but ended up not needing the driver because the posts went into the ground so easily (we live in wet climate with softer soil). They were even delivered to our home! Good quality product, easy to use and they look fantastic.

My second anchor after the snow plower knocked the last one off at the ground. They were easy to install and very stable holding the post and mailbox.

Very easy to install. I had an older version of this anchor which rotted away however, this one seems sturdier.

Easy to install. Lots quicker than digging a hole in ground. Post inserted in bracket made it a fairly easy installation. Should last for years.
