      • Replacing screen is easy, and this spline works great

Spline can be replaced, along with new screen, fairly easily. You might want to consider going one size bigger than what is recommended for your screen frame. In my experience, I have found that the recommended spline diameter can sometimes result in a screen that, while it will hold, can easily be pushed out of the frame by hand. A thicker spline is a BIT more difficult to install with the tool - you need to stretch it out a bit and/or put more pressure on the tool. But the result will be a screen that holds firm and tight. When doing your screen, work on a level, flat surface. It helps to have someone aid in holding the screen at one end of the frame. Pull it so it is snug and without snags, but be careful not to stretch it with too much force. The screen can tear easily if you over-do it. Remember, too, that that the movement of the spline into the channel will take up some additional slack. The nice thing about re-screening, is that it is very forgiving. If you are not satisfied, carefully pull the spline out and give it a second try.
