This Milwaukee 14” Steelhead diamond cutoff blade works very well on the various metals I used it...
This Milwaukee 14” Steelhead diamond cutoff blade works very well on the various metals I used it on. I cut aluminum 6061 stock and it cut like butter, very easily. I cut numerous cuts of steel basically cold roll stock and re bar 3, 4 and it cuts very good leaving very small burrs. The best thing is that after cutting a substantial amount of material you still have the full 14” blade that allows you to continue cutting with the full depth of a 14 inch blade compared to the using a aluminum oxide blade that wears away the blade and after several cuts your cutting depth has severely diminished. The next big factor to consider is the smell which I would presume is toxic fumes that become airborne while cutting with aluminum oxide blades especially in shops. This is a dry cutting steel / aluminum cutting blade and should NOT be used for cutting any type of concrete or masonry material. Another item for consideration, and I really liked about the blade is it is much safer than abrasive oxide cut off blades. There is less chance for a blade coming apart. Please use all protective clothing and guards to prevent injuries. Make sure you look for the rotation arrows as the saw pictured has to have the blade mounted in reverse for correct rotation.

    keeps cutting
living on a 4th generation property I have the task of removing a lot of metal left for further use or just disposed of I have to cut up metal of all kinds to fit in the recycle bin. Rebar, welded wire fencing, angle iron, old tractor parts, pipe. I have been using the grit cut off wheels and after use for 15 minutes or so have to replace the wheel because it has worn down to far to use. With this steel diamond cut off blade I can just keep cutting till the job is done. which saves me time.

    Good Solid Blade
The Milwaukee 12 inch Steelhead Diamond Cut Off Blade worked very well on several different types of metal. I cut 3/4 black gas pipe, 3/4 galvanized pipe, and 3/4 copper pipe. All cut clean. I own a 12 inch Bosch compound miter saw so I had to get the 12 inch Milwaukee blade. I doubt I will ever have a need to cut very large pieces of metal which this saw could handle but it's a lot nicer than using my hand grinder. Great blade to have in my arsenal for all my construction projects.

    Wonder Blade
The blade says it can last about 74 X longer than a regular cut off blade. I was a little doubtful. See the pictures of the job we took on. About 3000 LBS. of stainless that had to be cut from regular steel to scrap for full value. We used 36 regular blades to cut 1/2 of the work and 1 Milwaukee 49‑93‑7805 4‑1/2" Steelhead Diamond blade to do the rest. The blade still has life left in it. You do the math. I figured I saved at least 85% on blade costs with the using this blade. It paid for itself after using 9 of the other kind. I still have a very usable product This blade can produce more sparks so use all safety gear and dress so no skin is exposed. You will also find that using this blade is a bit slower than the other kind. However the saving are well worth it. Remember that for most, this blade will be used in short time jobs. I would probably lose the blade long before I could wear it out.

    Best Ever Cut-Off Blade
Milwaukee's 4 inch SteelHead Diamond Cut-Off Blade is the Very Best Cut-Off Blade I've ever used. I put in on my Milwaukee 18 volt cut off tool and it cut a 1/4 inch thick Angle Iron like butter. Then I cut through a Stainless Steel Shower Door Frame with ease. The diamond cutting edge makes all the difference. I can see this Blade outlasting other blades 20 times longer. Very Impressed and Pleased to have it.

    Great blade!
I just got this blade and I've been using it to cut black iron pipe and galvanized steel pipe. It does the job fast and makes a smooth and clean cut. I have not noticed any difference from the first cut through cut number 50 or so. It seems to be cutting as well now as it did on the first cut. One nice thing is that the blade is returnable in 90 days so you'll have the opportunity to return it if you find it does not meet your needs. If it keeps cutting the way it has it will be a great value.

    Works way better than expected
Always follow manufacturers directions use all safety guards and PPE. As a plumber, I frequently need to cut out cast iron pipe to make repairs or modifications. In the past I've used diamond blades that are not designed for cutting metal because the composite blades just disintegrate too fast. I was really happy to hear that someone finally makes a blade similar to a diamond blade that is designed specifically for cutting metals. I used it today on a 130 year old Extra Heavy cast iron pipe. It worked perfectly. After making several cuts that would have consumed several composite blades the SteelHead blade continued to cut like new. I really had low expectations because this blade is much thinner than the diamond blades I ordinarily use. I've been quite surprised. I fully intend to continue using these blades. They're awesome.

    Lives up to the hype
Industrial diamonds have revolutionized stone cutting and polishing, and it's nice to see them making it into products for the ordinary contractor. I was skeptical, at first, that this blade would live up to the considerable hype. Then I used it. It cuts a little faster than an abrasive blade, but that's not its real advantage. It lasts and lasts and lasts. I didn't notice any change in the blade after cutting 1/4" steel repeatedly. I would have to set up a considerably harder test to really put this blade through its paces. Abrasive blades -- use them once, then throw them out. You'll have a hard time killing this blade. The sparks produced are numerous and very bright, suggesting higher temperatures, but this didn't translate into significant burning of the cut (no more than abrasives.) There was some buildup on the cuts, but nothing a quick pass with the grinder won't solve (same as for abrasives, really.) I have no idea how long this lasts, but you're going to get significant use out of it.

    Works dry
The blade is made of an all steel construction, and is tipped with a diamond cutting surface, ensuring you get the same depth cut during the life of the blade. You'll need a 1 inch arbor for the blade, which is standard on a 12 inch saw. This blade was designed to last 75x the same amount of time a conventional abrasive disc will last, so this is perfect for larger jobs when you don't want any downtime with changing blades.

    Fantastic Blade
I've been using this Milwaukee 14" Steelhead blade in my chop saw for a month or so, mostly cutting conduit, strut and threaded rod, and have been very happy with it's performance. Cuts are definitely both a good bit quicker and noticeably cleaner over your standard abrasive blade. The performance is great, but the real seller here is the cutting lifespan of these Steelhead blades, and the savings both in the cost over the dozens of abrasive blades that you'd go through in the span that just one of these will last, and in the hassle of always having a stack of those abrasive blades handy. Even if you don't see quite the 75x longer life quoted, at even $10 for a cheap abrasive blade locally, it's not difficult to do the math. These are available in 4", 4-1/2", 5", 6", 7", 12" and 14" diameters. I plan on grabbing one for each of my angle grinders. Give 'em a try!
