I'm getting too old to swing a hammer very long. So now I use my impact drill and phillips bits to screw the boards together. I put together a chicken run with 2x4s and 3 inch long screws. I started with the cheap bits that I already had and went through them very quickly. The tips of them rounded off and wouldn't fit into the slot of the screws anymore. I went through the last 4 that I had. At least I didn't throw away new bits. Then I got out my new Milwaukee bits. I noticed a big difference from the beginning. They fit into the screw slot much better than the cheap bits, and the tips didn't round off like the cheap bits. I did manage to wear the tip on the 1 that I used to do more than half of the project, but it will live to do another project.
