The Merola Tile Crag Subway Sunset 11-3/4 in. x 11-3/4 in. x 10 mm Slate Mosaic Tile is a rustic and pleasing blend of organically neutral tones in natural stone. The rich color variance and individualistic striation within this natural slate tile add depth and raw beauty. The wide range of color makes it an optimal companion for just about any Decor. This tile is impervious to water and frost resistant, ideal for bathrooms, backsplashes, and exterior work.

They said that this material is naturally occurring slate stone which is harvested and cut to size and then mesh mounted. Q:Tile Mcrvnqa crag vintage Arizona quartzite.Prior to installation what can I use to clean the tile and what can I use to impregnate and seal the tile to make clean up easier after installation and grouting.I am using this on a concrete kitchen floor.

A: Hi! Our Crag Vintage Arizona Quartzite is not hard to keep clean and like all our products, is rather easy to maintain. To clean this tile, you can use a stone tile cleaner. Home Depot always recommends Custom Building Products, and their Concentrated Stone and Tile Cleaner https://thd.co/2uzypZX is a great option for routine maintenance. As for sealer, we recommend Custom Building Products and their Penetrating Sealers found here, https://thd.co/2tmj1la. Really attractive tiles. Cut with an electric tile cutter - very little waste even with more intricate cuts. Definitely would recommend. Would also suggest using a “wet look” sealer (but not shiny) to really accentuate the colors.

This tile is made from numerous small pieces of rectangle slate. It is real slate, so it has a beautiful texture, color and feel. Each tile is glued to the base, so it can be laid as one piece. This eases installation, well, it's suppose to ease installation. The problem arises from this being made of real slate. Real slate is a layered material, so it has a tendency to flake off. When this happens, the tile falls out of the base and then it must be placed back when set. This is why I put an average rating for ease of installation. This tile does look great - see my photos. Slate is also very durable when installed. I've laid slate tile in the hallway of one of my homes and the natural colors and texture give it a very earthy feel. I am a big fan of the look of slate and this herringbone slate tile is awesome. I highly recommend it.

I like the idea and the looks of these tiles but I'm not to sure how easy they will be to work with. Each case contains five mesh backed tiles of small rectangular pieces in an herringbone configuration. Several of the small slate pieces have come off of the backing. The directions said the best thing to do is try to keep the grout level fairly even so putting all the pieces back where they came from might take some time. These tiles are recommended for indoor use. They would look stunning as a wall accent or backsplash.

The Merola Tile Crag Herringbone Sunset Slate Natural Stone Mosaic Tile is a beautiful blend of natural earth tones. I would suggest that the grey seems a little more dominant to my eye, but the brown stones also would tie in any creams, browns, or woods in the furnished area. The tile has a low sheen and is rather rustic in appearance. Notice in the close up pictures that the surface is not level, nor cut smooth. I think it adds to the natural look of the tile, though some may feel it's application would be limited. It would make a beautiful backsplash. However, I originally thought about tiling a basement laundry area. With the small size of the mosaics, I decided that the area was too large, even though it would make a lovely floor - perfect for an entryway! Instead, I am making tile top tables. The tables will have more visual interest than a metal top and I can enjoy a close look at the tiles. Due to the small size of the table top, the use of a mosaic tile will be an appropriate fit and will give me more practice at tiling before I take on a whole floor. ;-)

I wanted to love this tile. I do love the look of it, it actually looks much better in person than on the website. The colors are great and the sheen and variation are very nice also. The quality of the sheets of tile, however, are not nearly as good. First off, several of the tile sheets were adhered to each other causing damage when separating from each other. Also, the layout of the individual tiles on the sheets was far from uniform. The grout spacing between the individual pieces ranged from narrow to wide and the alignment was off also. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this tile unless you meticulously examine each sheet and sort out the bad stock. If you can sort through to get the good ones, the tile is very attractive.

This is a natural slate product and the color variations are beautiful but the size of each individual tile varies in height so grouting will be difficult. There is no sheen on these, but a good sealer will bring out more color. They will need a border tile to make a finished look as there is no way to make a straight edge. If natural rock in a herringbone pattern is what you are looking for, then these are a nice choice.

Would have given 5 stars but there are many broken ones so you must be aware of this and get enough for you job - we had plenty. They look great. We used charcoal grey grout. The grout get into all the nooks and crannies so there's a lot of washing off that takes time. Once done - they look fantastic. Sparkly. Our contractor saw a hint of green in them - I do not. Either way - we have a monochromatic theme in the bath - glass tiles on the shower wall, this on the floor, black granite saddle, and wood look FANTASTIC waterproof final plank flooring.
