We use this tool all the time. It is end-heavy, but that's expected because of all that metal on the end of a wood handle. It's great for loosening small items in soil, and prying small plants. The chisel end whacks off pest plants at the roots, and can be sharpened. Both ends can be sharpened with a file to some degree, but this is a tool for digging, so will not keep an "edge". We keep ours just sharp enough to cut through root bundles of small plants, not shrubs of any size. Our handle cracked after a few years, which is unexpected.
