A couple weeks ago a nearby lightning strike took out two GFI outlets, the electric fence charger and a cordless phone base in the barn. Did some looking and found this product. I just installed one on a sub panel in the barn and so far everything is great. (4 wire feed to the barn, separate ground and neutral, local grounding electrode in barn connected to grounding conductor from main panel in another structure with its own grounding electrode.) The Neutral to ground protection included in this suppressor in addition to the two line to ground protections is just what this application needed. It is low cost but it still looks like it is good quality and the specs are as good or better than the more expensive units I see advertized. It is not as sturdy as a package could be (rtv sealing wires is a bit messy though it is hidden after the install), but it is good value. It did take me a few minutes of head scratching to realize the frame in front is only for flush mounting to a wall and needs to be removed and discarded to mount the suppressor to the side of a panel. Looks like good quality once installed. I just placed an order for two more for other locations on the farm.
