Very well made trailer but.........
So I did a lot of research on what utility trailer to purchase at the $1000-$1600 range. This one was $1800 on sale for $1400 and another $140 military discount. I am happy with the price I paid but have some complaints. The trailer had one broken tail light, a missing ramp hitch pin (did not notice until it was time to put the ramp on) no hitch pin for ball lock and a beat up fender. This is more of Home Depot's fault than Karavan though.Lose 1 star thanks to HD. Karavan: Does not have ANY tie-down points which is weird. Lose 1 star. Tires are small but the next trailer up with bigger aluminum tires was $1300 more. I do like the pivot rail system very much and it has already come in handy a week into ownership. I took it downstate empty 3 hours away and had no issues at 80 mph or much of the usual trailer noise or "empty trailer jumpiness". 80 is a little fast, 70 mph felt more comfortable. Karavan did a nice job of building a trailer for strength and quiet road-noise. The tubular frame and hidden wires is a big plus! My plans for usage are for cutting/collecting tree branches around the yard at the upstate house. But I also customized it to transport my Harley-Davidson Ultra and if you plan on that check my photos. My Harley is a big bike and needs the full 8' to fit. I added a wheel chock and cut the tube giving me another few needed inches with the tour pack on (not shown) So, $20 for D-Rings and labor to make it a worthy investment for me.

I loved this trailer until the bearings expolded! If you need a disposabole trailer good for a handful of uses this may be the one for you.
I have had my trailer now for three to five years (I would have to look to be sure). The tires hardly have much wear yet! I do not use it a lot, maybe five times a year for a couple short trips of 30 to 80 miles. I parked the trailer today when I got home and the whole driver side tire hub bearing had gone bad! I hate to imagine what would have happen had I had another few miles to go!! I am sure I would have lot the whole tire, the load and done a LOT of damage to the vehicle, trailer and more. Up to this point I had always bragged to everyone about how great this trailer worked, not any more. Certainly the few miles I have put on my trailer should not have been enough to see any major wear. Because the bearing went out the axle is now also terribly grooved and the whole thing will need to be replaced. Karavan has a miserable one year warranty which has expired even though I probably don't even have 2,000 miles on the thing. But to make it even worse they have no way to contact them and ask if there is a batch of faulty axles, to verify the whole axle is shot or ask any sort of questions. Once you have made your purchase it is very evident they never want to hear from you again. Needless to say I am done bragging about how I love my trailer and will not be buying a Karavan trailer again. If you need a disposable trailer for one or two uses this may be the trailer for you!

      Loved it, then....
I loved the rails that drop down and pretty much everything about it so I bought it. First I noticed how loud it is. Light weight and travels like it empty. Bought an anti-rattle hitch tightener and that helped (not Karavan's fault) but still noisy. Then I noticed end caps falling off, bolts were not torqued properly from the factory or at Home depot? The lights hang low as does the license plate. Broke at least one light on each side and ripped the plate off moving it by hand in a rock driveway. Order parts and replaced and now the tailgate latch broke? I'm starting to think it's not built for anything but light to super light duty. I have parts on order again, when I fix it I think it's time to sell it and buy something heavier duty. The most I've done is move furniture, bags of mulch, haul new lumber and a one way trip with a lawn tractor. The trailer isn't holding up to that kind of beating <-- sarcasm. Live, learn and rebuy better. If not have the parts Superstore website handy.

        Very well made trailer
After watching the factory sales review video I realized how well made this was. I’m very happy with this trailer and highly recommend.

          just what I needed
With sides that go down and secure back gate this is amazing at the price. Used heavy duty carabiners to secure lines on the holes already there

It is a very versatile trailer well made and lite to push. The adjustable bars in back and side work well. I brought the front bar down and can load two 9ft kayaks side by side on the trailer. The rear taillights being the first point of contact when the trailer tilts back is not good. I took some squishy foam pads and wrapped it on the under side of the lights with packing tape. That has worked so far and came in handy once.

Overall I haven't been impressed with the quality and sturdiness of this trailer....Maybe if a homeowner is using it to move something occasionally, but not on a daily basis like I've tried using it. The latches that hold up the ramp broke within 2 weeks of purchase, I now have a strap holding the gate closed (on my $1,000 trailer !) I would definitely put my money towards a better quality frailer in the future.

              Nice light duty trailer
I looked at several light duty trailers in this size and price range before deciding on this 5 x8 Karavan model. I really like that it has an A-frame tongue, and not a single beam - like the one I borrowed from a friend. This is much more rigid and confidence inspiring. I really like the suspension design, with the bushings instead if slap-joints. Also, as other have said in their reviews, the concealed wiring and the tailgate clasps are nice details. I added a tongue jack and a water proof tool box to mine. I got both the Karavan trailer and the Curt Euro Mount ball mount from Home Depot. It is light enough that I can move it around the yard with the Cub Cadet, rather than drive a several-thousand pound SUV on the lawn.

Pros - Tube frame (opposed to usual angle frame), removable and folding sides, removable gate, heavy duty side and gate latches, it's light weight, and good construction (welds, paint, etc...). Cons - No tie down points, 1" thick wood deck boards (opposed to the 2" on most trailers), deck boards are warped, have 1" gaps in between them and some boards are loose where they are screwed to the center cross member, 12" tires, and it has a pretty short gate. This trailer has plastic fenders which I am not sure if this is a feature (since they won't rust) or it is going to be an issue with them cracking. Time will tell on this. I am okay with this trailer but if I wasn't rushed to buy it, bought it in the dark (at night), and I would have given the purchase a little more thought - I probably would not have bought it. It is a decent trailer for the typical home owner but I would not recommend it for any type of commercial use - this is a light duty trailer. I will not be using it for commercial work so it will work. I will be switching the boards out with some 2x6 pressure treated (with some modification to the gate hinge tabs to raise it up a half inch) and adding tie down points.

                  Nice 5x8
It appears to be a well-made trailer. I like the fact that the sides were fold down to allow a bigger wider load . After I got my tag and registered the trailer, I realized that I had a 2023 model which had different tires and wheels from what was on my paperwork so just beware that the stores have last year‘s inventory but are showing this year‘s model on the website. If I had known this, I may have looked for this year‘s model, which had a little bit nicer tire and wheel set up. My tires were 480 C and this year they are ST 145 same load range, but look a little beefier.
