Overall the quality and appearance of this fan is very good. It should be noted that although the Home Depot website indicates the brand to be "Illumine Zephyr", the fan we received is an Emerson "Prima Snugger" CF905. The images and specs appear to be the same however. Having installed at least a dozen or more ceiling fans over the years, mostly Hunter or Hampton Bay brands, this one is superior in almost every way. Most notably is the build quality. By comparison there is a good deal more attention to detail. They haven't cut corners and the materials are much better than the other brands. This replaced an older fan in our family room which had a simple on/off wall switch and a pull-chain to change the speeds. This new fan has a dedicated wall switch with four speeds and no pull-chain. Our old fan did not have a light kit and we did not buy the light kit for this new fan. PROS: The fit and finish is very good. No sharp edges, no parts that just "barely" fit. Everything goes together nice and smooth. The appearance is very nice and it sets itself apart by not using the same old designs for the various pieces as most others do. We bought the brushed bronze color and all of the pieces were nicely coated with no color variations or scratches. The documentation is very, very good. Each step of the assembly is easy to follow with matching illustrations. It was about as simple to put together and install as it possibly could be. Other brands could learn a lot from this one. The parts are clearly identified in the installation manual and they even supply extra screws just in case! A number of the screws are already installed on various pieces. Some simply need to be removed and reinstalled to connect other pieces and some just need to be backed out slightly for other parts to slide in place. All-in-all that's a huge improvement over ceiling fan kits that require you to figure out which screws go with what parts. A BIG time-saver! CONS: Wall Control. Two issues, both are somewhat minor. First the included wall switch is noted as being "quiet". It is not quiet. There are five settings, "0" for off and four speeds numbered 1 through 4 on the switch with a slider to move between each setting. Each position produces a loud "click". Second, the settings are backwards in our opinion. The first setting up from the off position, "1", is high, 2 is slightly slower, 3 slower still and 4 the slowest. Four speeds are nice but it would make more sense to have the first setting as the slowest with increasing speeds up to "4" instead. Not a deal breaker. Noise. This was our biggest disappointment with this product. It is not a "silent" fan. The motor gives off an audible hum which can be heard from across the room, ten feet away. The hum is about the same for all speeds. This may be due to it having a "high powered motor". It certainly doesn't struggle at any speed, but by contrast we have a Hampton Bay fan in our bedroom which is also a flush mount ceiling "hugger" style like this one. Although the quality of the Hampton Bay fan isn't nearly as good as this one, it is almost completely silent. Since this fan is located in our family room the humming sound is usually drowned out by the TV or music. But when it's quiet, the fan's hum is distracting. Due to the constant hum and loud wall switch, I would NOT recommend this for a bedroom. Reviews for the actual Emerson model of this fan on other websites also said it was "noisy". Had we known that we probably wouldn't have bought it. But it's up and running and for now it will be fine. Overall this is a very nice and good quality fan. The issues with the wall switch are minor. The noise issue would cause me to think twice about buying another one though...all depending on where it would be placed. Hope that helps!

Pros Looks Great, Nice Design, Easy to Assemble, High Quality of Material, Stylish, Well Made Cons Noisy
