We strive to accurately portray and describe our products. You are correct; this floor has a very low gloss which emulates a European Oil Finish (note that the description includes : This floor features a revolutionary finish that provides the durability of aluminum oxide but offers an ultra low gloss visual with a luxurious feel.). Low gloss floors have gained significant popularity in recent years due to both the vintage look and also because scratches are less likely to show in low gloss floors versus high gloss ones. The product is packaged in random lengths, and may include lengths between 11 3/4" and 78", however, we do maintain a shorter average length to maximize the number of boards in the installed floor, further accentuating the rustic characteristics such as knots, dark mineral streaks, pin holes, etc.. and strong color variations. Since it is often difficult to capture the exact appearance of a floor in a small photograph, we offer free samples (the phone number is shown in the product bullets) so customers can review the floor’s appearance before ordering.
