Absolutely LOVE this lantern set!! Felt it accessorized well with my eclectic ranch decor… although I think it would be the perfect accessory for a coastal decor as well. Lanterns were extremely well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. The Home Depot team is great at packing responsibly. Easy to place a battery operated candle inside. The doors open and latch easily. Looks great stand alone and I’m sure I’ll decorate for certain seasons. Like the height of each piece makes the grouping interesting and versatile!

Very nice accent pieces for our family room

I ordered this two piece lantern set without the blessing of my interior decorator (wife) and am pleased to announce that I am still in her good graces. As a matter of fact the Hampton Bay Wood and Metal Lantern set occupies a spot adjacent to the much revered 200+ year old heirloom upright floor clock! The lanterns arrived in a large-ish practically bullet-proof box in pristine condition. No candles were included. Speaking of candles these housings are definitely not suited for real candles in my opinion (hence the battery powered unit in the photos) however I suppose because of their metal roofs you could get away with real ones if you are an adventurous soul. The small one stands 14” high by 6” wide with the larger one being almost 22” high by 8” wide. The metal “roofs” look galvanized but are not though they nicely compliment the distressed white woodwork frame. The handles are 1/2” diameter rope, the latches are real and work well. These work well for us and I’m told they will also be used while entertaining on the screen porch. I like them.

Nice beach- or farmhouse-vibe lanterns

These lanterns from Hampton Bay are nice! One of them is smaller and one is bigger, allowing for diversity of their decorative look. While the hinges and latch closures are not heavy-duty, they serve their purpose for light use. I don't think I'd recommend putting full-size candles into either lantern, though tea lights would probably be fine. Depending on the look you're going for, the rope handles can be easily removed. It's important to know that the tops of the lanterns are open (see photo), so if you leave them outside in an uncovered area, they will fill with water (which would likely cause the wood frames to rot).

Great decorating lanterns

Such great lanterns, the set comes in two sizes, with glass panels, either candles that are battery operated, or waxed candles works just fine, the framework is wood , the roof is galvanized metal, a hemp twisted rope, is attached to the cupola on the roof, making carrying it easily from room to room, or changing areas on a porch or patio, I have used them together as well as separate, often adding berries, silk flowers, mini pumpkins, or Christmas pines and pinecones.

very beautiful

these lanterns are just so lovely and can be used in so many different ways in a garden area, a sunroom, a house, a deck, a front porch or just about anywhere you would like to use them. they are just as pictured in their pictures online. they are very well made and a gorgeous addition to your decor. they can blend with several different types of decor. i am very excited to have them to enjoy on my front porch to welcome visitors at this time.

Really nice Lanterns

The Hampton Bay - Hampton Bay Wood and Metal Lanterns (Set of 2) were delivered by UPS. The lanterns were packaged securely with Styrofoam and cardboard to prevent any shifting or movement. The lanterns are constructed extremely well and will look great anywhere. They have a latch to open the side to place was candles or LED candles. You could add seasonal decor for each season when you use flameless LED candles. A really great choice for an outdoor or indoor accent.

Total farmhouse vibe!

The Hampton Bay Wood and Metal Lanterns have a fantastic farmhouse vibe. The set of two arrived very well packaged. The large lantern dimensions are 8"L X 8"W X 21"H and the smaller lantern dimensions are 6"L X 6"W X 14"H. I was disappointed that the hinged door side had pretty significant space around the opening and what appears to be a yellowing color distortion from the overly weathered paint or too thinly applied paint as seen on the enclosed pictures. I love all the tin accents and the top burlap handles provide an additional nice touch.

Nice Lamps.

These lamps are pretty. They have a galvanized bottom and top portion which are attached with very small screws. The sides, except the door, has glass securely attached. The door has glass but it is held in place by stays. The overall construction is wood. The handles can be easily removed if needed. The large lamp is hefty so it could stand up to winds. Overall, nice lamps and they were packed well so no damage when arrived.

Awesome lanterns

We love lanterns! We have them around our fireplace in the family room and outside on the patios. We wanted some more to use for displays. The Hampton Bay Wood and Metal Lanterns (Set of 2) was a nice choice. The white wood allows for the black hardware to standout. The metal top and bottom along with the top handles gives the lanterns a farmhouse feel. It appears that the top and bottom are hot glued on. Hopefully this doesn't become an issue. The taller lantern is big enough to display items were as the smaller one is perfect for flameless candles.

The Hampton Bay Wood and Metal Lanterns (Set of 2) Model # HD21030 is new set of Lanterns from the Hampton Bay collection. These Lanterns are framed in wood and have a top and bottom made from galvanized steel. The tops on these Lanterns have some very impressive riveting. The set is comprised of two different sizes. The small Lantern is 6 x 14 inches and the large is 8 x 21. It’s not practical to burn a real candle in these. If you put flame-less LED candles inside these lanterns they’ll cast a significant amount of light. We have ours placed in two different rooms and they really stand-out. Hampton Bay supports this product with a one year limited warranty.
